Council on Osteopathic Education Continuum
The AOA has openings for volunteer leadership positions on the newly established Council on Osteopathic Educational Continuum (COEC). Members may apply by Sunday, Nov. 30.
The COEC's role is to advance the AOA’s educational strategy by supporting lifelong learning across the osteopathic continuum. The council will:
- Guide the AOA CME Credit System and accreditation standards;
- Support osteopathic recognition in residency and fellowship programs;
- Advise on educational strategy and policy across UME, GME and CME;
- Promote integration of osteopathic principles, practice and philosophy in all stages of medical education;
AOA seeks a diverse group of applicants, including learners, faculty, administrators and CME sponsors. Terms vary from one to three years, with a maximum of six years of service.
Physician Payment Policy Fellowship
The American Osteopathic Association is accepting applications for the inaugural cohort (2026–27) of its Physician Payment Policy Fellowship, an opportunity to learn how healthcare services are valued and paid for in the U.S.
This 18-month fellowship is designed for early to mid-career DOs who want to help lead the conversation around physician payment reform. Fellows will gain hands-on experience with:
- The development of the International Classification of Diseases and Current Procedural Terminology codes;
- The processes that determine how medical services are valued and paid;
- Participation in CPT and Relative Value Scale Update Committee meetings;
- Mentorship from leaders in physician payment policy;
- A capstone project applying their knowledge to real-world policy challenges;
- Two fellows will be selected for each cycle. This is an outstanding opportunity to shape policies that support access to care and strengthen the osteopathic profession’s voice in payment reform.
Applications are due December 19, 2025.
