Ohio DOs represent just over 14 percent of the total physicians practicing in Ohio and 28 percent of the state's family physicians. Of the licensed DOs, 5,318 have Ohio addresses.
OOA has been serving the osteopathic profession and Ohioans since 1898. The OOA's mission includes promoting Ohio's public health and advancing the distinctive philosophy and practice of osteopathic medicine.

Marking a Milestone
On New Year’s Eve 1898, a group of DOs celebrated the new year in Columbus and toasted to their new professional group: the Ohio Society for the Advancement of Osteopathy. Today, 125 years later, the OOA is proud to celebrate this milestone by remembering the distinguished past that paved the way to a dynamic future.
Wear Your Pride on Your Sleeve
A new project sponsored by the Ohio Osteopathic Foundation encourages OOA members to show pride in their profession and their membership by wearing an OOA patch on their white coat.
